Whoopi Goldberg has sparked fury after claiming that Mexico is doing business with Russia, during a discussion on US President Joe Biden's State of the Union address on ABC's The View.
Speaking about Biden's comments on the Ukraine crisis, panellist Michele Tafoya criticised China for continuing trade with Russia. Goldberg interjected: 'Neither is Mexico.' When Tafoya expressed doubt, Goldberg insisted: 'There's quite a bit apparently.'
Tafoya said she would hold Mexico to the same standard if the claim were true, adding that China's actions were more dangerous due to its potential designs on Taiwan. The debate follows Biden's speech on Tuesday, where he voiced strong support for Ukraine and announced a ban on Russian airlines from US airspace.
The remarks come as Russia and Ukraine prepare for further talks, with Ukraine demanding an end to bombing before any progress.
