Former The Only Way Is Essex star Jordan Wright was found dead in a drainage ditch in Thailand, an inquest has heard. The 33-year-old, from Stanford-le-Hope in Essex, was discovered on March 14 in Phuket province, Chelmsford Coroner's Court was told on Tuesday.

Court co-ordinator Matthew Austin informed the inquest that Wright was spending time in Thailand and was found in a drainage ditch off Bang Thao 2 Alley, Choeng Thale sub-district. A passer-by spotted his body.

Following repatriation to Essex, a post-mortem examination was carried out at Basildon Hospital, with the cause of death recorded as awaiting toxicology results. Senior coroner Lincoln Brookes opened and adjourned the inquest until a full hearing on September 14.
