Tess Daly Flashes Wedding Ring After Split from Vernon Kay

Tess Daly made her return to social media on Friday, flashing her wedding ring in a series of dazzling behind-the-scenes snaps while filming a mystery project. The presenter, 57, announced her separation from husband Vernon Kay, 52, last week after 25 years of marriage, with a joint statement revealing they had agonised over the decision but remain committed to co-parenting their daughters, Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16.

Glamorous Return

Tess looked stunning in a black jumpsuit with sheer sleeves that cinched at her slender waist. Her diamond engagement ring and platinum wedding band were clearly visible in the photos. She captioned the post: 'The glam before the go', which quickly drew comments from friends Claudia Winkleman and Motsi Mabuse, who posted love hearts. Lizzie Cundy also commented, calling her 'Gorgeous'.

Amicable Split

Despite the news shaking the showbiz world, it is claimed that Tess and Vernon toasted the announcement with champagne. According to sources, the couple posted the joint statement on Instagram while raising a glass in their shared mansion. The Mirror reported that they are 'keeping it classy' regarding their split, marking the end of their time together with a celebratory drink.

Although they have separated romantically, the couple still live together in their family home and are eager to support each other's futures. A source said: 'After they released the statement, Vernon and Tess took a moment to toast each other and their futures. They only want the best for each other and their family. There has been no big fallout, more a gradual growing apart and wanting different things. They have vowed to stay friends and to keep things classy.'

History

Tess and Vernon began dating in 2001, and he proposed on Christmas Day the following year. They married in September 2004 in Horwich, near Vernon's hometown in Lancashire. A source told the Daily Mail that the couple had been living separate lives for some time, with different interests and hobbies, leading to their amicable decision to split.

In their joint statement, they wrote: 'After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire of what is best for both of us. We remain great friends and, most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority. There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time. We will not be making any further public comments.'

The couple, thought to be worth around £10 million, were last seen publicly together in February 2024 when they hosted an episode of The One Show. They also serve as food ambassadors for Marks & Spencer.
