Graziano Di Prima, a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, has left the BBC show following allegations about his conduct with a past participant. The Italian dancer announced his departure in an Instagram statement, saying he 'deeply regrets the events that led to my departure'.
Di Prima wrote: 'My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime. Respecting the BBC HR process, I understand it's best for the show that I step away.' The BBC confirmed he will not be part of the 2024 series line-up.
A BBC spokesperson said: 'While we would never comment on individual cases, it is well-known that the BBC has established robust duty of care procedures, and if issues are raised we will always take them seriously and act swiftly as appropriate.'
Di Prima joined Strictly in 2018 and has partnered with Zara McDermott, Vick Hope, Judi Love, and Kym Marsh. His exit follows that of Giovanni Pernice earlier this year amid similar allegations, which Pernice denies.
The upcoming autumn series marks the show's 20th anniversary.
