In an Instagram video, Guthrie said, 'It’s been two weeks since our mom was taken. And I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope. And we still believe.' She urged 'whoever has her or knows where she is' to come forward, stating, 'it is never too late to do the right thing'.
The 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie vanished from her home near Tucson. The FBI has reported that a glove found two miles from her home matches those worn by a suspect seen in surveillance footage. DNA from the glove has been entered into crime and commercial genealogy databases.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department, leading the investigation, has made no arrests and believes Nancy Guthrie is alive. Sheriff Chris Nanos has dismissed speculation that the disappearance was a burglary gone wrong and has cleared all family members, including son-in-law Tommaso Cioni, as suspects. 'The Guthrie family are victims plain and simple,' he said.
Guthrie, 54, who is stepping away from NBC’s Today show, appeared alone in the video, unlike previous appeals with her siblings. No ransom demands or communication with an abductor have been mentioned.
