Builders Report Paranormal Activity at Swingers Club During Renovation Work

Construction workers and staff at a "kinky" adult nightclub in Plymouth, Devon, have reported a series of unexplained paranormal occurrences following recent renovation work that involved breaking through a wall to an adjoining abandoned home. The mysterious events began after builders breached a sealed doorway connecting the two structures, with reports of doors opening independently, sensations of dread, and even a brick being thrown at a worker.

Eerie Atmosphere Emerges After Wall Breach

The adult nightclub venue, known as Vault 72, is Plymouth's premier alternative, LGBTQ+ friendly bar with a focus on kink and alternative lifestyles. Owner Andreas Drosiadis explained that since workers knocked through the wall to the neighboring building on Ford Park Lane, "things started happening" that have created a "horrible" atmosphere in certain sections of the property.

"We plan to join the two buildings to create a new, bigger venue, but something doesn't like what we are doing," Drosiadis stated, noting that the recent refurbishment appears to have triggered a supernatural disturbance. Employees and construction workers have shared multiple accounts of paranormal activity, including doors opening on their own and an overwhelming feeling of dread on the upper floor.

Paranormal Investigation Uncovers Disturbing History

On Tuesday, March 31, a team of paranormal investigators from Shadow Tor Paranormal visited Vault 72 to document the supernatural phenomena. The investigators, who have explored numerous sites throughout Devon and Cornwall, described the venue as "one of the most unusual places we've had to ghost-hunt" due to its combination of adult entertainment facilities and historical architecture.

The investigation team included Matt 'Bear' Clark from Shadow Tor Paranormal, author Jonathan Boakes, and members of Four Bears Paranormal. As they moved through the club and down the connecting passageway to the abandoned house, they noted "a distinct change of atmosphere and appearance." The old forgotten house has been reduced to its bare bones during the transformation process, yet retains striking original features including elaborate cast-iron fireplaces and a spiral staircase that extends four storeys.

Vanished Family and Technical Disturbances

Andreas Drosiadis revealed a particularly disconcerting detail about the abandoned dwelling's history: "There was a family here, after it was built, but they vanished from the records, then it was owned by the council, until it was rented by the bank." The building originally served as a bank many years ago before becoming the adult nightclub, with the original Chubb London bank vault door still standing as a testament to its formal past.

During their investigation, the paranormal team experienced numerous technical difficulties that raised questions about supernatural interference. Jonathan Boakes reported spending time alone in the basement until his light pole unexpectedly switched off despite having decent power. "That's not a comfortable feeling, being lost in the pitch black," he noted. Further battery depletion and equipment malfunctions occurred throughout the evening.

Spirit Communication and Shadowy Figures

The investigators deployed an array of ghost-hunting equipment including atmospheric detection instruments and "spirit box" radios that pick up electronic voice phenomena. According to Matt from Four Bears Paranormal, the devices captured several names and aggressive-sounding phrases including "Stop!", "Get out!", "Stop there!", and "Go away!"

At one point, the team detected heavy footsteps on the old stairs, initially assuming Andreas was approaching to check on them, but nobody was present. Becky Chapman of Four Bears Paranormal explained: "It was at least six steps, coming from the stairs down below. I thought it was a person until I looked."

Local paranormal investigators known as "Phoenix and Medusa" conducted simultaneous investigations using Ouija boards and group séances. They believe a "dark, negative entity dwells on the top floor of the old house," with Phoenix describing it as "a demonic presence" and "bad energy."

Customer Encounters and Ongoing Coexistence

Patrons of Vault 72 have also reported supernatural encounters. One local customer described seeing a tall figure in a black hood and long robe standing in the corner by the window during a packed evening. "Something about this one felt weird," the customer noted. "Then, after a while, they were gone, but no-one saw them leave."

To conclude their investigation on March 31, paranormal host Phoenix led a séance around a "haunted table" believed to be regularly visited by a ghost called Jerry. A spine-chilling atmosphere descended upon the bar as everyone present reported sensing that "a spirit had entered the room."

Despite the unsettling occurrences, club owner Andreas Drosiadis remains open-minded about the ghosts and spirits that may dwell in his establishment. Provided they leave him and his patrons in peace, he's "happy to coexist" with any supernatural residents. "I don't know what the ghosts make of our club, but I'm sure some of them enjoy it," he mused. "Maybe they just want to have some fun."
