Police Clear Reacher Star Alan Ritchson in Neighbour Fight, Citing Self-Defence

Alan Ritchson, star of the Amazon Prime series Reacher, will not face criminal charges after a confrontation with a neighbour in Brentwood, Tennessee, police have confirmed. The Brentwood Police Department concluded that Ritchson acted in self-defence during the altercation with Ronnie Taylor on 22 December.

Video obtained by TMZ showed Ritchson striking Taylor while he was on the ground, with the actor's two children nearby on motorbikes. However, police said their investigation, including video footage and witness statements, determined that no charges would be pursued. Ritchson also declined to press charges against Taylor for reckless endangerment, and the case is now closed with the agreement of the District Attorney's Office.

Taylor told TMZ he had asked Ritchson to stop making noise on his motorbike and admitted to pushing the actor twice. Police body-cam footage later released showed Taylor rushing into the street in front of Ritchson's bike, causing Ritchson to go over the handlebars. After a verbal exchange, Ritchson attempted to leave but was shoved by Taylor, leading to the physical fight.

Neither Ritchson nor his representatives have commented on the incident. Ritchson is best known for playing Jack Reacher, a former US Army military police officer with extensive combat skills, in the Amazon series based on Lee Child's novels.
