A 21-year-old mother has ignited a fierce online debate after sharing her unconventional parenting rules, which include asking her toddler for consent before changing his nappy and banning others from giving him sugar.
Corrie, who posts on TikTok as @c.maxxy, listed three rules that she says upset other people. The video has amassed over 1.2 million views and more than 180,000 likes.
Her first rule is that her son does not spend alone time with anyone who does not respect their family's boundaries, including grandparents. Secondly, she considers her son 'sugar-free'—while she allows him limited sugar, no one else is permitted to give it to him.
The third rule states that her son never has to share his belongings, whether at his grandparents' house or in the playground. Corrie also emphasises asking for consent before hugging or kissing her son, and she extends this to nappy changes.
