Lufthansa Bars Model for 'Naked' Outfit: Edda Elisa Slams Airline
Model Slams Lufthansa for 'Naked' Outfit Ban

German influencer Edda Elisa, a model, has publicly criticized Lufthansa after staff refused to let her board a flight, claiming she was 'naked' due to her light clothing during a heatwave. The incident occurred earlier this week at a German airport as she attempted to scan her boarding pass.

What Happened at the Gate

Edda Elisa was wearing minimal clothing to stay cool in the heatwave when she tried to board her Lufthansa flight. She recounted on Instagram that a representative told her: 'You cannot board.' When she asked why, the staff member allegedly said: 'You have nothing on. You are naked.' The influencer was eventually allowed to board after putting on a hoodie, but she did not hold back from criticizing the airline on social media.

Posting another athletic ensemble, she questioned: 'I'm curious to see if this outfit is boarding-worthy this time. What do you think?' Her posts have sparked debate online, with some supporting her and others siding with the airline employee.

Lufthansa's Response

A Lufthansa spokesperson commented: 'Lufthansa takes indications of potential irregularities in the way passengers are handled very seriously and reviews such incidents internally.' The airline maintained that staff can exercise 'due discretion' when ensuring passengers comply with regulations. The spokesperson added: 'As a general principle, Lufthansa expects all passengers to wear clothing appropriate to the nature of public travel and not to impair the well-being of fellow passengers from a wide range of countries. This expectation forms part of our General Conditions of Carriage. Our employees act on this basis with due discretion and within the scope of their judgment.'

Public Reaction

Edda's experience has split opinion online. Some felt her outfit was not inappropriate, while others backed the airport employee's decision. The influencer's brutal response to the airline has garnered significant attention, highlighting ongoing debates about dress codes and passenger rights in air travel.
