The Spanish actress, known for her role in Netflix's Elite, was filmed in the VIP area during Bad Bunny's performance, where the singer approached her as she sang along and they moved together briefly.
Social Media Backlash
Exposito, who boasts over 24 million Instagram followers, received a wave of negative comments on social media. One user on X wrote, 'Sorry, but Mbappé is an idiot. She's only with him for his money.' Another fumed: 'How are you going to do that when you're in a relationship and even more so since they're famous?'
Exposito's Response
Weeks later, Exposito appeared on Spanish TV show Al Cielo Con Ella to address the controversy. She said: 'What is all this outdated puritanism? Of course you can be a feminist, enjoy reggaeton, and dance however you want if you feel like it. That's the least of it. There are many of us, actually. This is a very old debate that I thought we had already moved past.' She added: 'I think it's the height of hypocrisy when people appropriate our discourse to take away our freedom, to tell us how to be good women, what music we should like, and how we should dance to it.'
Mbappe's World Cup Performance
The controversy emerged on the eve of the World Cup, where Mbappe has been instrumental for France, scoring seven goals in five games. Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid in 2021, has made 103 appearances for the club across two seasons, netting 86 goals in all competitions. He began his relationship with Exposito at the start of this year, with the pair first photographed together at a restaurant in March.
