Kevin Spacey has reached a settlement with three men who accused him of sexual assault, averting a civil trial scheduled to take place in London later this year. The settlement amount and specific terms remain undisclosed, according to reports.
One of the accusers, Ruari Cannon, who has waived his anonymity, also settled with the Old Vic theatre two weeks ago over claims that Spacey groped him at a party while serving as the venue's artistic director. The other two men, who remain anonymous, similarly alleged assault by the Oscar-winning actor.
Spacey has consistently denied all allegations. He was acquitted of nine criminal charges, including sexual assault, in a 2023 London trial relating to incidents between 2001 and 2013. Two of the men involved in that criminal case had also filed civil claims at the High Court.
Since the 2023 trial, Spacey has attempted to revive his career with sporadic acting and directing roles and festival appearances. Late last year, he described himself as homeless, living in hotels and Airbnbs while working as a lounge singer in Cyprus, comparing his situation to actors blacklisted during the McCarthy era.
Spacey was previously found not liable in a US civil case brought by actor Anthony Rapp, who alleged molestation when he was 14.
