Newly released police footage shows Justin Timberlake struggling with field sobriety tests after being pulled over in the Hamptons in 2024. The eight-hour video captures the moment officers suspected him of driving while intoxicated.
In the footage, Timberlake tells officers the tests are "really hard" and says he had consumed one martini and was following friends home. He also mentions he is on a world tour, prompting an officer to ask for his licence.
The singer, who was arrested after allegedly running a stop sign and veering out of his lane, later asks why he is being arrested and is told he will be held overnight. A friend arrives and refers to his hits "Bye Bye Bye" and "Sexyback" in a plea for leniency.
The release follows a legal dispute in which Timberlake's lawyers sought to block the footage. In a joint filing, they conceded it did not constitute an unwarranted invasion of privacy. Sag Harbor officials said they were pleased to comply with public records law.
Timberlake pleaded guilty to impaired driving in September 2024. He was fined $500, ordered to complete 25 hours of community service and received a 90-day driving suspension, along with agreeing to a public safety announcement about the dangers of drink-driving.
