Dani Mathers, a 30-year-old former Playboy Playmate of the Year, has pleaded no contest to charges of invasion of privacy after posting a nude photo of an elderly woman in a Los Angeles gym locker room on Snapchat. The incident sparked global criticism and a police investigation.
Under the plea deal reached on Wednesday at a Los Angeles courthouse, Mathers avoided jail time but must complete 30 days of community labour. She was also sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to stay 100 metres from her victim, paying $60 (£46) in restitution.
Judge Gustavo Sztraicher banned Mathers from using a mobile phone in any place where people are undressed or have an expectation of privacy. She is also prohibited from posting images of others online without their express permission and must destroy all copies of the offending image.
Mathers had faced global backlash after sharing the photo with the caption: 'If I can't unsee this then you can't either.' Her attorney, Tom Mesereau, said she was relieved the case was over and wanted to move on with her life.
