Convicted sex offender Stephen Bear has been ordered to pay over £27,000 after illegally sharing a sex tape featuring Love Island star Georgia Harrison. The 34-year-old was jailed for 21 months last year for uploading the footage to OnlyFans.
During a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court, Bear was ordered to pay £22,305 in criminal profits and £5,000 in compensation to Ms Harrison. The court heard that Bear made extensive profits from subscribers after uploading the video, with his subscriber count increasing by 822 in the month following its publication.
Judge Christopher Morgan described the impact of the video as 'devastating' and said Ms Harrison's life was 'changed forever'. Ms Harrison told the court she felt 'violated' and 'embarrassed', and that she lost work from brands and had to pay legal fees as a result.
Bear, from Loughton, Essex, was jailed in March 2023 after being found guilty of voyeurism and disclosing private sexual photographs and films. He served 10 and a half months of his sentence. The £22,305 will be paid to HM Treasury and distributed to police charities.
Judge Morgan warned Bear that if the confiscation order is not paid within three months, he could face a further nine months in prison. Speaking outside court, Ms Harrison said: 'Nobody has the right to earn money from any crime but to earn so much from image-based sexual abuse is quite frankly abhorrent.'
