In a dramatic twist to the ongoing Sean 'Diddy' Combs scandal, actor and filmmaker Justin Baldoni has been officially dropped from his role directing a documentary about the embattled music mogul. The decision comes amidst a firestorm of controversy and new, shocking allegations.
'Jane Doe' Breaks Her Silence
The case took another sensational turn as the anonymous accuser, known only as 'Jane Doe', publicly defended herself for the first time. Her statement comes after her legal team made a controversial attempt to subpoena actress Blake Lively, a move that has been widely criticised.
In her powerful declaration, the woman at the centre of the lawsuit stated, "I am not hiding. I am running for my life." She detailed her reasons for remaining anonymous, citing "death threats and relentless harassment" since filing the suit against Combs.
Legal Firestorm and Blake Lively Subpoena
The accuser's lawyer, Ariel Mitchell, filed a motion aiming to compel Blake Lively to testify, based on a since-deleted 2022 Instagram post. The move was swiftly condemned by Lively's representatives and has now been denounced by the accuser's own new legal counsel.
Attorney Douglas Wigdor, who now represents 'Jane Doe', issued a scathing statement, completely disavowing the attempt to involve the 'Gossip Girl' star. "The prior attorney's tactic to involve Ms. Lively was shameful and wrong," Wigdor stated, emphasising that his client had no prior knowledge of the strategy.
Baldoni's Exit and Project Fallout
The ripple effects of the scandal have claimed a major professional casualty. Justin Baldoni, known for his role in 'Jane the Virgin', was developing the documentary for YouTube. A spokesperson for his company, Wayfarer Studios, confirmed his departure, stating the project is "no longer moving forward" and that they had "immediately ceased all further development" upon learning of the serious allegations against Combs.
This development signals the increasing isolation of Diddy within the entertainment industry, as major figures and partners distance themselves from the billionaire rapper amidst multiple lawsuits and a federal investigation.
