A Security Breach at a Star-Studded Premiere
An Australian man, known online as 'Pyjama Man', caused a major security scare by charging at pop superstar Ariana Grande during the premiere of Wicked: For Good in Singapore on Thursday. The individual, identified as Johnson Wen, 25, was arrested following the shocking incident but later posted an eerie video online gloating about his freedom.
The Chilling Aftermath and a Pattern of Disruption
Shortly after news of his arrest broke, Wen took to his Instagram Stories with a disturbing clip. Filmed in a shopping centre, he wore a white shirt bearing the word 'Jesus' and captioned the video, 'I'm free after being arrested'. This behaviour is part of a well-established pattern for Wen, who has built an online persona as a professional 'invader' and 'troll most hated'.
His history of gatecrashing is extensive and international. His disruptive antics include:
- Being pulled off-stage at a The Chainsmokers concert in Sydney in July.
- Ambushing Katy Perry on stage in Sydney in June.
- Disrupting the Cricket World Cup in 2023.
- Delaying the 100m Olympic Final in Paris 2024 by jumping a barricade.
- Attempting to streak at the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2023, where he tripped and was escorted away.
Wen actively shares videos of his stunts and even runs a GoFundMe account, asking followers to pay his bills.
The Confrontation with Ariana Grande
The most recent event unfolded on the yellow carpet at Universal Studios Singapore. Video footage shows Wen lunging at Ariana Grande, 32, and putting his arm around her as she visibly struggled to get away. Her co-star, Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the film, bravely jumped between Grande and the intruder, shouting at him before security guards intervened and pulled Wen away.
A visibly shaken Grande was comforted by Erivo in the aftermath. Wen, who was wearing a white T-shirt and shorts with distinctive long black hair featuring blue streaks, later shared clips of the ambush on his Instagram. He wrote, 'Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You.' Eerie pre-recorded videos also emerged showing Wen stating it was his 'dream' to meet the actress.
