Reports that Zayn Malik has legally rejoined One Direction a decade after leaving have been largely debunked, despite a flurry of speculation among fans. The confusion arose after a change to Zayn's details on the band's company, PPM Music Limited, was filed on Companies House on November 3.
Contrary to some claims, Zayn has not become an active director of the company. As of November 13, 2025, all former band members—Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and the late Liam Payne—are listed as 'resigned' from their director roles, a change that occurred on December 31, 2022. Zayn's own director role was terminated in 2016 after he left the band.
The only recent change on Companies House was Zayn updating his address to the USA, which does not indicate a reunion. He retains 'significant influence or control' over PPM Music Limited, a status he has held since 2016, alongside Louis, Harry, and Niall. The company's only active directors are Lawrence Engel and Alan McEvoy.
Fans had hoped a reunion might honour Liam Payne, who died on October 16, 2024. However, no legal moves towards a reunion have been confirmed. A music source told The Sun that Payne's death had brought the members closer, but any changes to Companies House filings may take up to 24 hours to appear.
