Ex-Hearts star's Sorsa opens second store in Glasgow

Sorsa, the premium menswear brand co-founded by former Hearts midfielder John Neill, has opened its first store in Glasgow at the St. Enoch Centre. The opening marks the brand's second overall, following the success of its initial unit in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire.

A 'choose what you pay' pricing model

Founded in 2024 by long-term friends Sarah Jane Gaffney and John Neill, the Glasgow-born retailer operates an "unusual" pricing strategy. Customers are presented with five different cost options when making a purchase, via a price 'slider' under each product that starts at the full RRP and extends to the most budget-friendly option.

According to the Sorsa website, the flexible payment method ensures that its clothing remains "accessible to everyone". The brand then donates 50 percent of its profits to the Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH), which is also the charity partner of the St Enoch Centre.

Supporting mental health and the planet

Beyond the mental health donation, a further one percent of the brand's total revenue goes towards the planet, directly supporting environmental conservation and sustainability initiatives worldwide. Every pound donated is said to generate "£13 in environmental impact."

Sorsa takes its name from the Gaelic word for "freedom." It was launched by Gaffney and Neill, best friends of more than 20 years, with the aim of delivering "high-quality clothing that empowers customers to showcase their personal style" and encouraging shoppers to "break free from the fashion industry's usual rules."

Plans for womenswear and a golfing bestseller

While the brand mainly offers menswear, there are plans for womenswear lines "later in the year." Since retiring from professional football with Hearts, co-founder John Neill has been ranked in the 'top 10 footgolf player in the world'. Sorsa offers its own golfing collection, which the brand states has become a bestseller.

Sarah Jane of Sorsa said: "Opening our St Enoch store is a massive moment for us. We're incredibly excited to welcome everyone through the doors and introduce more people to Sorsa, what we stand for and our choose-what-you-pay approach."

Craig Stewart, Centre Manager at St. Enoch Centre, said: "We're delighted to welcome Sorsa to St. Enoch Centre. SAMH is also St. Enoch Centre's charity partner, so it's great to have a Scottish fashion brand in the Centre that's already backing a cause close to our heart. We think shoppers are going to love Sorsa's product and what they stand for as a business."

Recent arrivals at St. Enoch Centre

The opening follows a fashion brand featured in Vogue landing in the St. Enoch Centre just a few weeks ago. Vanilla opened the doors to its first store in the country in August, with the 2,000 sq. ft unit offering clothing from both the Pink and Blue' labels.

Loved for its fashionable womenswear, Vanilla was recently recognised in the June 2026 issue of Vogue, where it received praise for its "trend-led approach" and "accessible price point", alongside its collections that "blend modern femininity with high street inspiration." Following the successful opening, the high street label confirmed it would be opening its second Scottish store in Livingston's The Centre, with billboards inside the West Lothian shopping centre teasing an October 2026 opening date.

The Scottish high street is also set for its first Tala store, as the viral activewear brand has confirmed it will be coming to Westfield St. James Quarter, Edinburgh, with the grand opening set for sometime in November. Founded by entrepreneur Grace Beverley in 2019, the brand currently operates two stores in the London area, and the upcoming Scottish opening marks its first step into regional retail.
