Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has been pictured singing into a microphone at a recording studio alongside her son Cruz Beckham, signalling a return to music after more than a decade.
The 52-year-old singer-turned-fashion designer was photographed during a session with Cruz, 21, and his band Breakers. Cruz, who snapped the picture, smirked at the camera while wearing headphones to listen to his mother perform. A music producer was also visible in the background, watching Victoria as she sang.
Cruz confirms Posh is back in the studio
Sharing the image on Instagram, Cruz wrote: "Yeah, we got Posh back in the studio." The post comes 13 years after Victoria last released a single.
Victoria first rose to fame in the 1990s as part of the Spice Girls, alongside Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton. The group achieved huge success, with all their albums reaching the top 10 of the UK charts and nine UK number one singles to their name, including Wannabe, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year.
Solo career and recent chart resurgence
After the Spice Girls disbanded in 2000, Victoria signed with Virgin Records and released her self-titled debut solo album in 2001, which reached number 10 on the UK album charts. Her lead single "Not Such An Innocent Girl" reached number six on the singles chart and had a resurgence in 2026, reaching number one on the singles downloads and sales charts, becoming her first solo number one.
Victoria recorded two more albums between 2001 and 2003, but they were not released. Her last released song was "This Groove" in 2003. She returned to the stage for a Spice Girls reunion tour in 2007 and performed at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics, but has since focused on fashion.
Cruz's band Breakers and family support
Cruz, who has his own band Breakers, released a debut album and performed at Reading Festival this summer, where his parents Victoria and David Beckham, along with siblings Harper and Romeo, cheered him on from the wings. Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son, was not present, as he is currently in a publicised feud with his parents over claims they controlled him during his childhood.
