Vernon Kay has revealed that his daughter told him he looked 'stupid' over a fashion choice. The BBC Radio 2 presenter, 50, was discussing upcoming hot weather and fashion trends on his show when he mentioned the 'grief' he gets at home.
Speaking on Thursday, May 21, Vernon said people were 'dusting off last year's swim shorts' ahead of a bank holiday weekend where temperatures could reach 33C. He then discussed the trend for 'Jesus sandals', saying he was 'not a chance' about wearing them, especially with socks.
Vernon said: 'I get grief around the house for wearing me slippers with socks. You know what I mean? It's a strong look.' Mimicking his daughter, he added: 'Dad, you look stupid! Why, who cares? I'm within my own four walls. I'll do what I want!'
Vernon shares daughters Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 17, with ex-wife Tess Daly. The couple split after 23 years of marriage earlier this month. In April, Vernon spoke about their changing relationship with their daughters as they become more independent.
