Thousands of Lewis Capaldi fans are making their way to Sefton Park ahead of his headline performance tonight (August 15). The Scottish singer-songwriter is set to take the stage as part of Cream's In the Park Presents events, with the show expected to draw a large crowd to the park.
Event returns after a year off
The Sefton Park music festival has become a staple of Liverpool's music calendar, attracting tens of thousands of fans annually. The event took a break last year to allow for BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in May. Over the years, the festival has hosted a range of acts, from local musician Jamie Webster to the iconic Cream Classical with its 50-piece kaleidoscope orchestra.
Singer's rise to fame
Lewis Capaldi rose to fame with his global hit "Someone You Loved," which spent seven consecutive weeks at the top of the charts. His debut album, "Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent," was released in 2019 and featured the hit along with songs "Before You Go," "Bruises," and "Grace." He has since released his follow-up album, "Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent," in 2023. Capaldi has previously performed at a sold-out show at Croxteth Park in 2019.
Fans arrive in style
The ECHO was outside the event today as stylish attendees made their way to the venue. The show is set to get underway at around 8pm, with fans arriving in matching t-shirts and enjoying the atmosphere ahead of the performance.
