Taylor Swift won seven awards at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday night, extending her record as the most decorated artist in the show's history with 41 career wins. She took home trophies in nine nominated categories, including artist of the year, album of the year and best pop album.
Accepting the award for pop album of the year for 'The Life of a Showgirl,' Swift thanked her fiancé, Travis Kelce, who was in attendance. 'I think that this album feels very happy and confident and free because that’s the way that I get to feel every single day of my life, because of my fiance who’s here tonight,' she said.
Swift later received six additional awards, including artist of the year and album of the year, presented by figure skater Alysa Liu. In her speech, she urged artists to nurture their craft away from public scrutiny. 'Give yourself time to make mistakes. Give yourself time to hone your craft,' she said.
The ceremony, hosted by Ludacris, featured performances from Lainey Wilson, Alex Warren, and Miley Cyrus, who accepted the iHeartRadio Innovator Award. John Mellencamp was honoured with the Icon Award, while TLC, Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue previewed their summer tour with a medley.
