Taylor Swift has become the first artist to achieve three UK number one singles in 2026 while claiming her fifth chart double, according to the Official Charts Company.
The US popstar, 36, released an expanded version of her album The Life Of A Showgirl last Friday with four new songs, three of which are dominating the UK singles chart.
Eighth UK number one single
Patient Zero has soared to the summit, landing Swift her eighth UK number one single and her third of the year so far – following Opalite and Toy Story 5 track I Knew It, I Knew You.
The singer has also claimed her fifth chart double as the record claims the top spot on the UK albums chart, meaning Swift has now achieved the feat for five consecutive years since 2022.
Album returns to top spot
The Life Of A Showgirl’s return to the top spot after the release of The Encore coincides with the one-year anniversary of the original version.
The 2025 record, which became the fastest-selling album in US history in its first week, has now become her first to produce three UK number one singles with Patient Zero joined by The Fate Of Ophelia and Opalite.
Its recent success also means the album is enjoying its fifth non-consecutive week at the top of the charts.
Chart rivals and Oasis resurgence
It is joined in the top five by the debut record by London-based band Keo titled Put A Smile On Me, which sits at number two and has also topped the official record store chart and the UK vinyl albums chart.
Rock group Nothing But Thieves have secured their fourth consecutive top five album with Stray Dogs at three, while Olivia Rodrigo sits at four with her chart-topping album You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love.
It is followed by Michael Jackson’s compilation album The Essential at number five, which has dominated the charts in recent months amid an ongoing resurgence for the late singer – nicknamed the King of Pop.
Britpop band Oasis, led by Liam and Noel Gallagher, are also climbing their way back into the charts a week after announcing their Oasis Live ’27 tour following the success of their Oasis Live ’25 reunion concerts.
After their upcoming gigs sold out quickly amid huge demand, their album Time Flies… has made its way to number six on the chart, while (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? is at nine and Definitely Maybe sits at 16.
Over on the singles chart, Swift dominates with fellow encore tracks Cleveland! at three and Babylon at four.
The pop powerhouse is joined by Sienna Spiro’s Great Expectation at two while Ella Langley sits at five with Choosin’ Texas – which recently landed the US singer-songwriter her first UK number one single.
