The star-studded entertainment roster for one of the world's biggest sporting events has been finalised, promising a spectacular night of music alongside the American football action. Super Bowl LX is scheduled for 8 February 2026 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. While the competing NFL teams remain unknown, the musical talent set to grace the stage is now confirmed, offering a diverse array of performances from pre-game festivities through to the iconic halftime show.
The Headline Act: Bad Bunny Takes Centre Stage
Ending months of intense speculation that included names like Taylor Swift and Adele, the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced in September that global Latin music sensation Bad Bunny will headline the coveted Super Bowl halftime show. The Puerto Rican superstar, a three-time Grammy and twelve-time Latin Grammy winner known for hits like "Tití Me Preguntó," is credited with popularising Latin music globally in the 2020s.
His selection has not been without controversy, drawing criticism from some supporters of Donald Trump who have labelled him a "massive Trump hater" and an "anti-ICE activist." Despite the political backlash, Bad Bunny has promoted his upcoming performance with a video teaser promising, "The world will dance."
Pre-Game and Opening Ceremony Performers
The entertainment will begin long before the opening kick-off. Grammy-winning rock legends Green Day have been confirmed as the hometown act, performing a special tribute during the opening ceremony. The band, comprising Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, will play a setlist of their biggest songs to celebrate six decades of Super Bowl history, welcoming previous MVPs onto the field.
"We are super hyped to open Super Bowl 60 right in our backyard!" said frontman Armstrong. "We are honoured to welcome the MVPs who've shaped the game and open the night for fans all over the world. Let's have fun! Let's get loud!"
The pre-game musical programme will also feature a trio of acclaimed artists:
- Brandi Carlile: The eleven-time Grammy winner will perform "America the Beautiful."
- Charlie Puth: The pop singer, known for "Attention," will sing the National Anthem, promising a "special arrangement" in D major after addressing fan scepticism online.
- Coco Jones: The Grammy-winning former Disney Channel star will perform "Lift Every Voice and Sing." Notably, her father, Mike Jones, is a former NFL player and Super Bowl champion.
A Celebration of Culture and Performance
Jon Barker, the NFL's senior vice president of global event production, stated that these artists "bring a distinct voice to the moment, helping set the tone for a day that will captivate fans around the world." Desiree Perez, CEO of Roc Nation, which is co-producing the show, added: "This moment embodies the very best of culture, live performance and our country."
With a lineup blending rock, pop, Latin, and folk influences, Super Bowl LX on 8 February 2026 is poised to be as much a musical extravaganza as a sporting showdown. Fans globally can expect a meticulously crafted spectacle from the first note to the final whistle.
