Sŵn festival returns to Cardiff for 19th year, tickets available

Cardiff is set to welcome music fans this weekend as the 19th annual Sŵn festival takes over venues across the city centre. Running until Saturday, October 17, the 2026 programme is packed and forms part of the Cardiff Music City Festival (2nd-17th October) for the third consecutive year, building an ambitious annual collaboration across two weeks that also includes Llais and the Welsh Music Prize.

Multi-venue line-up across the city

Sŵn 2026 is once again multi-venue across all three days of programming. This year's venues include Tramshed, Clwb Ifor Bach, St. John's Church, Jacobs Basement, Fuel, The Canopi, Tiny Rebel, Little O'Neill's and Porter's.

Founded by Huw Stephens in 2007 and led by the Clwb Ifor Bach team since 2018, this year's programme brings together local, national and international artists, presenting some of the most exciting new names from Wales and beyond.

Emerging talent and local favourites

Staying true to Sŵn's vision of nurturing local talent and discovering an audience for a wide range of artists, the three-day festival offers a chance to find a new favourite artist. Among the 2026 line-up are Pys Melyn, WRKHOUSE and Westside Cowboy, alongside a host of local Welsh talent added last month, including Pembrokeshire's Dewin, emerging lo-fi songwriter Tesni, and the four-piece Ffenest, fresh from their Welsh Language Album of the Year shortlisted album, 'Emynau Anghyflawn'.

With a strong emphasis on highlighting emerging new talent, Sŵn 2026 will also welcome new names to the festival this October, including Welshpool-born Leeds-based folk Americana artist Neve Cariad and Cardiff's cult favourites Pypi Slysh.

Tickets still available

Tickets for Sŵn are still available for Friday and Saturday, with ticketing options and further line-up information accessible via the festival's official ticketing page.
