Sir Tom Jones' performance of In the Tower of Song during last night's blind auditions on The Voice UK left viewers in tears. The 85-year-old singer also shared the clip on Instagram, where he received an outpouring of praise.
Emotional reaction from fans and coaches
One follower commented on Instagram, "It made me cry too! Flippin wonderful," while another wrote, "WOW! How is his voice still this incredible at his age? Just amazing." Following the performance, which earned Sir Tom a standing ovation, coach will.i.am was visibly moved, declaring the Welsh legend a "gift". He said, "I am trying to make sense of my emotions right now. We just felt like, the most purest of hearts. 85 years of every experience you can think of in this man's sponge of a soul, and he rinsed it out for us. And we bathed in it."

Kelly Rowland responded, "Beautifully said," with Sir Tom adding, "I cherish everybody in this room." Kelly then remarked, "Amen. Your voice changes, and it continues to evolve. But yours is so strong, when you're singing, it is so strong."
A six-decade career
The performance highlights a career spanning more than six decades. In 1965, his hit It's Not Unusual shot straight to number one in the UK. He went on to become one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with iconic hits including Delilah, Green Green Grass of Home, Sex Bomb, and Kiss.
