Sam Fender vows to change ticket prices after fan backlash

Sam Fender has said he is unhappy with ticket prices for his 2027 stadium tour and has vowed to change them.

The 32-year-old, who announced his Proper Massive Stadium Tour '27 earlier this week and is set to play at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, made the claim when replying to an Instagram post, which claimed tickets would cost up to £130.75 for standing.

Singer's response to ticket prices

In his reply, the singer said: "I'm not happy with these prices, they're getting changed. It got inflated well more than I'd had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on.

"The standing will not be split as well, I had no idea about it. I have no idea how this was normalised in gigs. It's b*llocks and it won't be happening on this tour."

Tour details and ticket claims

The post by an Instagram user called Gavin Davis, claimed standing tickets at Wembley Stadium would be split into "front standing", costing £130.75, and "standing", which was priced at £98.85. It also said ticket prices for seating would range between £64.75 and £130.75 at the venue.

North Shields-born Fender will also perform at Newcastle's St James's Park, Cardiff's Principality Stadium, Dublin's Marley Park, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium, and Manchester's Etihad Stadium as part of the run. The post claimed the highest ticket price in Newcastle was £112.90, the top price in Cardiff was £119, and the highest price in Edinburgh was £120.95.

Chart success and tour impact

It said the top price in Manchester was £119.60, and did not have information for the Dublin gig. Fender has achieved four UK top 10 singles and three UK number one albums, his Rein Me In duet with Olivia Dean reached number one on the singles chart.

The song became the longest-running number-one single in UK music history, spending 23 weeks at the top. Some of Fender's best-known songs include Hypersonic Missiles, Seventeen Going Under and People Watching.
