Rosie O’Donnell has shared a photo showing her striking weight loss, crediting the diabetes drug Mounjaro as a “life saver”. The comedian posted a picture on Instagram on Wednesday wearing a black tracksuit, which she said was taken while shopping for a flight to Australia.
In the caption, O’Donnell wrote that she was “shocked” to fit into a size 12, adding that she cannot yet see herself in her “new smaller body”. The photo was taken by actors Camryn Manheim and Robin Ruzan in a dressing room.
The 63-year-old previously revealed she was prescribed Mounjaro and Repatha in January 2023. She said she lost 10 pounds over the holidays and noted that the medication required a diabetes diagnosis. However, Amgen, the maker of Repatha, clarified that patients do not need to have diabetes to take that drug.
O’Donnell also changed her diet and drinking habits, cutting out Diet Coke and sugary foods, and drinking only water. She said her appetite had “decreased significantly” and she now rarely thinks about food.
She has also attributed some of her weight loss to moving to Ireland in January with her youngest child, Clay, following Donald Trump’s return to the White House. She said cooking for herself instead of having a chef helped her slim down further, and she is seeking Irish citizenship through her grandparents.
