Rock legend Sir Rod Stewart proved his dedication to Celtic Football Club knows no bounds as he braved the cold Dutch weather to watch his team secure a 3-1 victory over Feyenoord on Thursday.
A Father-Son Football Tradition
The 80-year-old music icon was not alone in the stands. He was joined by his 19-year-old son, Alastair, whom he shares with his wife, Penny Lancaster. The father-son duo, who are well-known for their shared passion for football, were in high spirits throughout the match, enthusiastically cheering on their team.
This outing continues a cherished tradition for the pair, who frequently attend Celtic games together. Sir Rod has previously affectionately described his teenage son as his 'little best friend'. Notably, their younger son, 14-year-old Aiden, was not in attendance for this particular European fixture.
Strong Family Bonds On and Off the Pitch
The football trip comes shortly after a touching family moment in South America. Penny Lancaster recently shared a sweet photo of Rod with their sons backstage before his performance in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In the snap, Rod looked relaxed, while Alastair showcased his own style. Penny, Rod's third wife and the mother of both Alastair and Aiden, gushed over the image, referring to them as 'my boys', highlighting the family's close-knit relationship.
Rod's trip to Argentina was highly successful, seeing him play three sold-out shows to 15,000 fans a night at the Movistar Arena. He was later named a Guest of Honour at the Parliamentary Assembly, where he received a certificate and was presented with an Argentina football kit bearing his name.
A Life of Music and Family
Reflecting on the honour in Buenos Aires, Rod expressed his gratitude, stating, 'I've never received an award of this kind; it's a great honour. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.'
The Maggie May singer is currently on his One Last Time Tour, with upcoming stops in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the United Arab Emirates, and North America. Beyond his musical career, Rod is a father to eight children spanning 47 years, with five different mothers.
