Ann Everton, the 43-year-old rock singer known for her band Darsombra, has died in a multi-car collision in upstate New York. The crash occurred on October 3 as she and her husband and bandmate Brian Daniloski were travelling to Montreal for the first gig of their US and Canada tour.
According to police, the van they were driving crashed into a New York State Police trooper's cruiser while the officer was conducting a traffic stop with blue lights on Interstate 87. Everton was pronounced dead at the scene. The trooper and Daniloski were treated for injuries in hospital.
Everton's brother-in-law announced the news on Instagram, describing her as 'an incredibly warm and generous soul—and a true artist.' He noted that Daniloski sustained severe injuries and faces a long recovery. A GoFundMe page set up to support him has raised $49,659 (£37,074).
Fans have paid tribute on social media, with one calling her 'a sparkling light' for Baltimore's creative community. Another said they were 'devastated' and grateful to have met her.
