Sharon Osbourne has confirmed that Ozzfest will return in 2027, with the festival set to take place at Aston Villa's stadium in Birmingham before moving to the United States. Speaking on The Osbournes podcast, Sharon told her son Jack that the plan is to hold a two-day event at the home of Aston Villa Football Club.
Sharon emphasised the importance of showcasing new talent, stating: 'We've got to find a lot of young, new talent, because that's what your dad would want.' She clarified that the 2027 event would not be a touring festival, but hinted that it could expand into a tour in 2028 depending on demand.
The Osbournes also discussed the possibility of bringing Ozzfest to India, with Jack noting the success of Lollapalooza there. Sharon remarked on the growing interest in metal music among younger generations in countries that previously did not embrace the genre.
Ozzfest first launched in 1996 as a two-day event and became an annual touring festival until 2018, when it ceased due to escalating demands from managers and agents. Sharon explained that despite making a profit, it was no longer cost-effective.
Aston Villa previously hosted Black Sabbath's final show, 'Back To The Beginning', just two weeks before Ozzy Osbourne's death.
