Olivia Rodrigo posed up a storm in her sexiest shoot yet as she opened up about navigating heartbreaks ahead of the release of her new album. The 23-year-old Traitors hitmaker showcased her toned physique in a bedazzled sequined bra, confessing that she sees breakups as an 'awesome opportunity to redirect your life'.
Reflecting on Love and Loss
The singer confirmed her split from boyfriend Louis Partridge back in April, after it was reported in December that the pair had gone their separate ways. In her recent shoot with Dazed magazine, she explained: 'I think going through a breakup can be a really awesome opportunity to redirect your life in a [way] that feels more aligned with who you are. That's such a beautiful part of being in a relationship. Even if it doesn't last forever and you don't get married, it's so worthwhile. You never learn more about yourself through any other experience. It's a very raw thing.'
New Album Details
Olivia's third album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, is set for release on June 12 and details her first time being in an 'adult relationship'. She explained: 'It's me discovering what romantic love looks like in real time. I've been in relationships before that were really exciting and tumultuous in a teenage way, but this was my first time being in a real, big girl relationship. And when you're in an intimate relationship, it holds up a mirror and shows you parts of yourself that you would never normally see. That was an endless source of inspiration – something that I'm still mining.'
Does Heartbreak Get Easier?
Asked whether heartbreak eases with age, she replied: 'I think it gets easier... I don't know, talk to me in two years and maybe I'll have gone through the worst heartbreak ever. But I just feel like heartbreak will never be as bad as it was when you were 17 years old. That breakup that I went through when I was 17... oh my God, nothing will ever be that tough ever again. Hopefully! Maybe I'm speaking very naively. But I do feel that with every kind of rejection – whether in love or a work thing, a friend thing or whatever – I'm taking stuff less personally as I get older. As you grow and have more experiences, it starts to feel OK.'
Behind the Scenes of the Shoot
Elsewhere in the shoot, the star put on a very leggy display as she wrapped up in a fur coat, before wowing in a red lace dress for the magazine cover. In another quirky look, she wore a pair of black leather pants and tasseled chaps.
Relationship with Louis Partridge
Olivia and Louis first made headlines as a couple when they were spotted together in his hometown, London, in October 2023. However, back in December, the songstress was reportedly spotted in tears at her friend Lily Allen's Christmas party at strip club Stringfellows in London over the split. She previously told Vogue of her latest writing: 'I've found a lot of inspiration from being in London. I've spent so much time here over the course of making this album. It has a lot of songs that are London vibes, about experiences that I've had here.'
Dating App Experience
Olivia talked about how she tried dating app Raya before meeting Louis, following the release of her album Sour in 2021. However, she was only on it for a month after a bad date prompted her to swiftly delete her profile. She said: 'I was like, Wow, never again. It was just so bad. I didn't even see anyone cool! I thought I would see, like, ooh, some really hot actor guy. I don't even know any of these people… It's [always] some weird creative director. Like, you just don't have a job.'
