Oasis Fans Reveal Favourite Lyrics For 30th Anniversary

New research has revealed the UK's most memorable Oasis lyrics, with 'Don't Look Back In Anger' taking the top spot. The line “Don’t look back in anger…I heard you say” was voted the nation's favourite, ahead of classics like “I said maybe, you’re gonna be the one that saves me” from 'Wonderwall' and “You and I are gonna live forever” from 'Live Forever'. Notably, the winning track is sung by Noel Gallagher, not Liam.

The survey, conducted by car rental firm SIXT, polled 2,000 people. It found that 44% believe emotional impact makes a lyric iconic, while 35% value clever wordplay or rhyme. 13% said an Oasis song helped them reconnect with someone. The band's current Live 25 tour has seen fans loudly singing along, with 'Don't Look Back In Anger' forming part of the encore.

Only 17% of fans polled secured tickets for the tour, and 14% admitted to feeling major FOMO. One in ten have taken a spontaneous trip after hearing powerful lyrics. 28% said Oasis tracks are perfect road trip anthems, while 26% said the music always brings back happy memories. The tour now moves to London's Wembley Stadium, with A-list celebrities expected.
