Noel Gallagher has revealed that compromising with his brother Liam is what has made Oasis "better than" the first time around. Peace was restored in August 2024 when the once-warring siblings announced they would reunite the legendary Manchester band.
It was a reunion once thought impossible, but on August 27, 2024, two days before the 30th anniversary of their debut album, the band announced that the "great wait is over". Their mammoth Oasis Live '25 tour was such a success that after their second show at Wembley, it was decided that they would tour again – with Oasis Live '27.
Noel's advice on working with a sibling
During an appearance in one of the last episodes of Amelia Dimoldenberg's Chicken Shop Dates, Noel was asked about what advice he would share on working with a sibling. "I think you've got to be prepared just to compromise," he said. But while compromising is "key", he says he still has work to do on this. He joked: "Yeah, which is something I'm not ordinarily good at. But I think it gets better as you get older."
When reflecting on how he and Liam made sure that the reunion was a success, Noel said: "You can't make sure. You've just got to hope that you can do whatever it is you're trying to do as well as you want to do it. And in the case of Oasis, it became apparent after maybe a week of rehearsals that it was going to be as good if not better than it ever was."
Champagne Supernova's new meaning
While the band famously closed their shows with Champagne Supernova, the song now carries a very different meaning. He said: "It was nonsensical in the 90s, and then it's taken on more meaning for a new generation. I've still got no idea what 'Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball' means…" When Amelia joked it could mean that he was "moving really fast," Noel laughed: "I think it's a drug reference."
Plans for future tours
While many had assumed that Live '25 was the only time to "witness the fitness", plans for a second tour were discussed back in 2025 on the second night of their run at Wembley. Noel said on TalkSport: "Nobody knew what was going to happen and how it was going to go. We did Cardiff and Manchester, and by the time we got to Wembley, someone said 'Well y'know...' And yeah, it was decided we were gonna do it. And it was all set in motion then. We couldn't do Europe because our fans in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Holland, and all that have been great with us down the years, so we couldn't do that. These ideas start as a little idea. Then the Vegas and Boston gigs were two we were supposed to do last time, but we couldn't do them for some reason."
