McVitie's has added a new tasty treat to its range, which is the perfect nostalgic combination of two firm favourites. The McVitie's Jammy's Raspberry Flavour and Apple Flavour Biscuits feature a light, crumbly biscuit dusted with icing sugar.
Each biscuit is packed with a jam-filled centre that’s bursting with bright and tangy raspberry notes or crisp, zesty apple flavours. A packet costs just £1 and is now available to buy from Iceland, B&M and Ocado.
We love a good jam biscuit in our house, especially my two-year-old daughter who rips them out of my hand when they are on offer. So seeing McVitie's had added to their range with a fruity and soft biscuit did pique my interest, as we're a firm lover of a Jammie Dodger in our home.
The pack had 13 star-shaped biscuits inside, which is fantastic value for money. They are on the smaller side, but what they lack in size they completely make up for in taste. The biscuit itself is lovely and soft, with the closest McVitie's example being their Shorties, which are soft and have a layer of sugar on the top. But when you bite into the biscuit, the tangy raspberry jam complements the soft biscuit and sugar perfectly, making them very moreish.
The taste has all the nostalgia of the McVitie's BN Happy Faces, just with a nicer and better quality biscuit. With a soft, fruity centre, these biscuits are a fun, flavour-packed option – perfect for sharing and snacking.”
With McVitie's claiming the biscuit is perfect for snacking and lunchboxes, the best person to test this was my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter. At that age she says a number of words, only a few of which can make sense together – but the first words out of her mouth were “Jammie Dodger” before asking for some more biscuits.
Overall, I'd say the McVitie's Jammy's are the perfect nostalgic biscuit and have the best qualities of two of their most popular treats. It's also something I would buy again due to their moreish taste. McVitie's Jammy’s Raspberry flavour are now available at Iceland, B&M and Ocado, with remaining major UK retailers stocking the snack from June 6. The Apple flavour will land in all major UK retailers from the week of June 6 for an RRP of just £1.
