One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has admitted he 'always hated' performing the band's iconic debut single 'What Makes You Beautiful'. The revelation came during an interview with Capital FM ahead of the Jingle Bell Ball, where he confessed, 'I’m not sure there’s a single time I performed One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” and enjoyed it.'
The singer, known for his dry humour, joked about his candidness during the fan Q&A, saying, 'The thing is with the irony of this game, like, shredding it, is like I am an open book. I will just give you every answer!'
Louis is scheduled to perform at the Capital Jingle Bell Ball at The O2 on Sunday, 7 December, alongside headliner Kylie Minogue and acts including Alex Warren, Tinie Tempah and Jessie J. The two-day event, on 6 and 7 December, will also feature performances from Raye, Ed Sheeran, Rizzle Kicks, and former Little Mix star Leigh-Anne. The 32-year-old has been reflecting on his One Direction days recently, also discussing a controversial interview late bandmate Liam Payne gave in 2022 on Logan Paul's podcast. In that chat, Payne claimed he was the band's 'de facto leader', a notion Louis now disputes, saying the role was 'assigned to him'. Tomlinson also expressed disdain for internet personality Logan Paul, stating he will 'forever despise' him after the incident.
Louis continues to work on new solo music, having recently told The Independent about his frustrations with certain media practices, noting that most journalists have 'a duty of care'.
