Live From Wythenshawe Park returns for its fourth year with five headliners across two weekends, including The Cure, Lewis Capaldi, Pulp, The Courteeners and The Prodigy. The series, which launched in 2023 with Noel Gallagher, has grown from a single show to a major event drawing tens of thousands of fans.
From Noel Gallagher to five headliners
Noel Gallagher kicked off the series over the August Bank Holiday in 2023, marking his Manchester homecoming at the venue where his Oasis roots began in nearby Burnage. Since then, the park has hosted New Order, Blossoms, Fontaines D.C., Sam Fender and a host of support acts including Johnny Marr, Inhaler, Kneecap and Olivia Dean.
Last year, capacity increased to 35,000, allowing more fans to attend and boosting the Community Fund. This year, the event expands to five shows across two weekends, reflecting strong demand for live music in the UK.
The Cure and Lewis Capaldi headline next week
The Cure will headline on August 21, their first Manchester gig in ten years, with support from Slowdive and Manchester's own The Slow Readers Club. The following night, Lewis Capaldi makes his debut at the venue after cancelling his 2023 appearance.
Emma Zillmann, Programmer of Live From Wythenshawe Park, told the Manchester Evening News: "This year [it's] five shows across two weekends, so quite a big jump up. It shows the demand that’s there for live music and the UK has a healthy touring market, plus that the bands are there and available."
Community fund and local impact
The Live from Wythenshawe Park Community Fund, launched three years ago, channels proceeds from concerts into local organisations. This past year, eight projects were funded from a budget of £21,000, with an additional £3,000 from Engine No.4, benefiting the wards of Brooklands, Baguley and Northenden.
Organisers have increased community engagement, with a dedicated community manager, expanded leaflet drops, drop-in sessions for residents, and a new steering group with local councillors and stakeholders. Enhanced drainage measures and travel advice aim to minimise disruption, and a helpline is available for residents.
The series runs from August 21 to August 30, 2026, with headliners including The Cure, Lewis Capaldi, Pulp, The Courteeners and The Prodigy.
