Lil Wayne Cancels Toronto Show Over Health Issues

Lil Wayne has postponed his Toronto concert at the last minute due to an unforeseen illness, leaving fans who had already entered the venue frustrated. The rapper, 42, was scheduled to perform at Budweiser Stage on Monday, August 11, but a message appeared on screens hours before the show informing attendees of the cancellation.

The announcement, also posted on social media, stated: 'Due to unforeseen illness, Wayne’s Toronto show tonight will be postponed. As his fans know, he loves putting on nothing short of the best performances for those who come out, and he was so excited for this one.' It added that all previously purchased tickets would be honoured for the new date once announced.

Many fans expressed anger over the short notice, with one writing on X: 'Cancelling this late, when everyone is already there, should result in compensation from the artist.' Another said: 'They let man's into Budweiser to buy overpriced drinks and merch, to then tell them Lil Wayne is ill and the show will be postponed?????' A third demanded easier refunds, citing costs for babysitters and hotels.

Wayne is expected to resume his Tha Carter VI world tour tomorrow night at Blossom Music Center in Ohio. The cancellation comes months after his on-and-off girlfriend Denise Bidot accused him of physical and emotional abuse in May, claiming he kicked her and her daughter out on Mother's Day.
