Kelly Osbourne has paid tribute to her father, Ozzy Osbourne, following his death at the age of 76. The former Black Sabbath frontman died on Tuesday, 22 July, weeks after the band's farewell show in Birmingham.
In a statement on Instagram, Kelly, 40, expressed her grief using lyrics from Black Sabbath's 1972 ballad "Changes". She wrote: "I feel unhappy. I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had," accompanied by a broken heart emoji. Kelly had previously performed the song with her father in 2003.
Ozzy's death was announced by his family, who said he "passed away this morning" surrounded by love. His sisters, Jean Powell and Gillian Hemming, described him as "frail" but still cracking jokes during his final visit to Birmingham.
Surviving Black Sabbath members also paid tribute. Bassist Geezer Butler said he was "so glad we got to do it one last time," while guitarist Tony Iommi called it "heartbreaking news." Drummer Bill Ward wrote: "Where will I find you now? In the memories."
