Katy Perry halted her concert in Detroit on Sunday after a young fan collapsed on stage. The 40-year-old singer was preparing to perform her 2011 hit 'The One That Got Away' when the fan, named McKenna, passed out.
According to Billboard, Perry had invited McKenna and a friend down from the top corner of Little Caesars Arena to join her on stage. As the youngster collapsed, crew members and venue medical staff rushed to assist, with Perry kneeling beside her.
After McKenna was taken off stage, Perry gathered the other three young fans for a group hug and prayed: 'Dear God, we pray for McKenna, that she will come back fully and brighter and better than ever. Amen.' She added: 'It's so much. Sometimes you're so brave and you can get on stage, and it's overwhelming. I understand that feeling.'
Later, Perry reassured the crowd that McKenna was 'doing great'. The incident comes two weeks after Perry suffered a scare during her San Francisco concert when the mechanical butterfly she was riding dropped a few feet. She quickly composed herself and continued singing 'Roar', ending the track with 'Not today Satan'.
