Jade Thirlwall vows to milk Angel Of My Dreams resurgence after Kylie Jenner viral boost
Jade Thirlwall to milk Angel Of My Dreams resurgence

Jade Thirlwall has said she plans to "milk the f**k" out of the resurgence of her debut solo single Angel Of My Dreams, two years after its release, following a viral boost from Kylie Jenner.

The former Little Mix star saw global streaming of the song explode after Kylie Jenner walked to the track during the Victoria's Secret show last week. The moment lifted Jade and her BRIT-nominated song to a new level of fame in the United States.

Streaming surge after Kylie Jenner catwalk moment

Kylie, 29, walked in the iconic Fantasy Bra on October 18, giving a powerful platform to the song. After her appearance on the catwalk, streams for Jade's song shot up to 284,000, a rise of 1,434 per cent. Angel Of My Dreams later entered Spotify's US Daily Top Songs at Number 197.

Jade is planning to make the most of this newfound success. "I'm milking the f**k out of this song," she said in an interview with Rolling Stone. "I've got no shame right now, and I'm proud to say it. When something's taking off, you've got to hit the ground running."

Team response and personal reflection

She added: "All of my team around me, the minute it started having its resurgence, everyone was like that clip in The Office where everyone's scrambling. I know how hard I've worked for this, and I have had a bit of a tough year as well, just personally. I was wrapping up the year writing with Mike Sabath, and having a lot of friends around me, and just being really proud of myself just for getting through this year."

Jade told the Mirror at the Mercury Prize Awards: "It's just been mental and I can't believe what's been going on." Sharing advice for younger women, she added: "Always believe in your dream and keep practising. You have to believe it more than anybody else."

Producer Mike Sabath on the nominations

Mike Sabath, who produced the track, said it was "crazy" to have two bodies of his work nominated at the awards. He was nominated with Raye's This Music May Contain Hope. "It's crazy. I mean, England has been so good to the artists I work with and me, so I'm stoked," Mike said. Speaking about Angel Of My Dreams, he added: "I've loved that song. England held it down with that song."
