Harry Styles debuts emotional song for Liam Payne at MSG

Harry Styles performed a previously unreleased song dedicated to late bandmate Liam Payne on the anniversary of his death. The former One Direction star, 32, was performing at Madison Square Garden when he shared the unreleased song What is Enough?

Dedicating the song to Payne

Dedicating the song to Payne, he said: 'I feel incredibly proud when I get to look up there and see my name up there. There are so many people in my life, friends and people that I've worked with, that I wouldn't have been able to do this without. And two years ago today, I lost one of those friends.'

Adding that 'it's just about looking after each other,' he told the stadium to 'get home safe [and] tell someone you love that you love them.'

Anniversary of Payne's death

The concert, held on Friday, October 16, marked two years since Payne's tragic death at the age of 31.

'I'm not wise enough but I wrote you a letter just to burn it up and watch it rise like you in the sky,' sings Styles in videos shared to social media afterward. 'I could tell you what it's like to bury a friend on a Wednesday night gathered in the garden around a fire,' the song continues.

'You dance until you're tired. Now you don't. Now you never will, will you? I'm not wise enough to call for a conversation and then back it up. Why? Like you in the sky.'
