Glastonbury 2027 headliner rumours: Sam Fender leads betting

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2027 have sold out, and speculation is already mounting over who will headline the Worthy Farm event next year. Organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed that three headliners have been booked, but their identities remain unconfirmed.

Last year's festival featured headline sets from The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo, with Rod Stewart in the legends slot. However, two major acts have already been ruled out for 2027: Oasis and Madonna. Eavis previously told a fan on Instagram that Oasis were not booked 'this time,' and in August she told BBC Radio 4 that it was 'definitely not Madonna.'

Top contenders for the Pyramid Stage

According to odds from BetFred, Sam Fender is the current favourite to headline, priced at 2/1. The 'Seventeen Going Under' singer last played the Pyramid Stage in 2022, before headliner Billie Eilish. Reports suggest he is working on his fourth studio album, following the Mercury Prize win for 'People Watching' last year.

Ed Sheeran is another strong contender at 3/1, despite recent controversy. A headline slot would mark 10 years since he last topped the bill at the festival. Sheeran made his Glastonbury debut in 2011 on the Croissant Neuf and BBC Introducing stages, and returned in 2014 for an earlier Pyramid Stage slot. His eighth studio album, 'Play,' was released last year, with a reportedly near-complete twin album, 'Rewind,' that could debut at the festival.

Swift, Beyoncé, and a newcomer

Taylor Swift is also at 3/1, having been booked to headline in 2020 before the festival was cancelled due to Covid. She has never played Glastonbury, and a 2027 set would come seven years after her initial booking, following the release of the expanded deluxe edition of her 2025 album, 'The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore.'

Beyoncé, at 4/1, last headlined the Pyramid Stage in 2011, becoming the first solo Black woman to do so. She closed the Sunday night with a 90-minute set and a Destiny's Child medley. Fans are awaiting updates on a rumoured Act III in her musical project, following the release of the 'B'Day 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition' last month.

Chappell Roan is another potential newcomer, at 4/1. The 'Pink Pony Club' singer has headlined Reading and Leeds, Pukkelpop, Rock en Seine, and Sziget Festival, but has never performed at Worthy Farm. She has previously said a follow-up to 2023's 'The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess' won't come soon.

Other acts in the betting include Eminem, Fred Again, Little Simz, Miley Cyrus, and Oasis, all at 4/1. The odds are subject to change as the festival approaches.
