Former Bay City Rollers guitarist Neil Henderson has died at the age of 73 following a lengthy health battle. Tributes have been paid to the musician, who was in the pop rock band from 1970 to 1972 and performed on their debut chart single Keep on Dancing.
Career with Bay City Rollers and Middle of the Road
Henderson left the band shortly before Rollermania propelled them to global fame. He later joined another successful Scottish band, Middle of the Road, which had achieved a number one hit a few years earlier with Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep.
In a statement, Middle of the Road confirmed his death and shared their condolences.

The band said: "We are sorry to have to announce the death of Neil Henderson, our original lead guitarist, songwriter and friend."
They added: "Neil had been ill for some time and was fighting to recover from a stroke a few years ago."
The statement continued: "We wish to send our sincere condolences to Heather and Shona, his two daughters, and all his family and friends. His memory will live on with all who had the pleasure of sharing the stage with him as will his music."
