Sir Elton John, Troye Sivan and Charli XCX are set to perform at Apple Music Hall, the new live music venue opening in London's Battersea Power Station.
Opening night and first shows
The 600-capacity venue opens its doors on Monday, September 28, with Sir Elton performing on the opening night. Seven further shows are planned through December, including Baby Keem on October 2, Skye Newman on October 7 and Sivan on October 13.
Arlo Parks plays October 22, Burna Boy October 29, Chase and Status November 26 and Charli XCX December 2.
Venue design and technology
Apple said the venue was designed to “close the gap between intimacy and production value and allow for an unprecedented level of creative control”. Every seat is close to the performer, yet the infrastructure supports arena-tour requirements, with a 38ft-wide stage that can be reconfigured for front-facing or in-the-round sets.
The hall features a 48-speaker spatial sound system positioned around the audience, letting fans hear performances in an “immersive environment” when artists play in spatial.
Partnerships and ticketing
Apple has partnered with independent UK promoter Communion One for bookings and promotion. Managing director Mazin Tappuni said: “Apple Music Hall is a fantastic venue, like nothing fans will have ever seen before. The production quality is world class, livestreaming to fans across the world, from a live room where every square foot has the artist and their fans in mind.”
Live events will be powered by UK-founded ticketing platform Dice, which Apple said was “committed to fair and innovative solutions for fans to access their favourite shows”. Dice chief commercial officer Andrew Foggin said: “The thought and attention to detail that has gone into every aspect of the venue is clear to see, and is in total alignment with our ethos of ensuring fans have the best possible experience when discovering and attending shows.”
Global livestream and tickets
Performances will be livestreamed globally so fans outside London can watch the one-time-only shows. Tickets for the first three shows go on sale at 9am on Monday, September 28, with more details at applemusichall.com.
