Ed Sheeran's New Album Lyrics Hint at Marital Strain

Ed Sheeran's latest album, Autumn Variations, has sparked speculation about his marriage to Cherry Seaborn, with lyrics describing a failing relationship. The album, released this month under his own label Gingerbread Man, includes tracks like Punchline, where Sheeran sings, 'I can't help but be destructive right now' and 'This is what losing hope might sound like.'

Other songs, such as That's On Me, offer a more hopeful tone: 'This is not the end of our lives, this is just a bump in the ride.' However, The Day I Was Born includes the line, 'I broke apart from my lover a couple months ago,' adding to the speculation.

Sheeran previously stated that the album draws from both his own experiences and those of his friends. He said, 'When I went through a difficult time at the start of last year, writing songs helped me understand my feelings... when I learned about my friend's different situations, I wrote songs, some from their perspectives, some from mine.'
