Ed Sheeran is set to release a new single, 'Repeat It', a collaboration with Dutch DJ Martin Garrix, more than a decade after the track was first created. The song, originally debuted by Garrix at Miami's Ultra Music Festival in 2015, has been reworked for a radio-friendly release expected next month.
The collaboration dates back to 2014, when Sheeran hinted at experimenting with electronic music. The track was initially titled 'Rewind, Repeat It' but has since been shortened. Insiders describe it as a classic Ed Sheeran love song set to a dance beat, with lyrics including: 'Stay for a night, call it what you want. Don’t fight the feeling. Rewind, repeat it.'
The release comes during a break from Sheeran's Loop World Tour. The singer, who is married to Cherry Seaborn and has two children, recently underwent a lifestyle transformation, losing 14kg by cutting out alcohol, cigarettes and unhealthy food. He told Men's Health that becoming a father prompted the change, saying: 'I probably shouldn’t drink if I’m going to feel this dreadful.'
