Supermodel Cara Delevingne has announced the release date for her debut album, telling fans she “cannot wait” for them to hear her new songs. The 34-year-old, one of the most recognisable faces in fashion after her rise in the 2010s, has walked for houses including Burberry, Chanel, Dior and Marc Jacobs.
From Runway to Screen and Stage
Delevingne also built a successful acting career, appearing in 2015’s Paper Towns and 2016’s Suicide Squad alongside Margot Robbie, as well as the TV series Only Murders In The Building. She has since moved into music, recently releasing her first songs: I Forgot, Out Of My Head and Crazy, Baby – the latter arriving on Friday.
In an Instagram post, Delevingne revealed that her debut album, titled Not Normal, will be released on September 25. She also shared the album cover with her nearly 40 million followers, showing her in a black bodysuit sitting in a dark room with her arms and legs tangled in red and blue wires.
“I Cannot Wait for You to Hear Them All”
In the caption, she wrote: “Writing songs over the years has been such an important part of my life, and it has been so special to finally start sharing these songs with you this past summer.” She added: “I cannot wait for you to hear them all. If any of you connect with even one song, that’s all I’ve ever wanted.”
Delevingne performed shows this summer in Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, London, Los Angeles and New York amid the release of her new music. She has previously spoken about playing drums, guitar and piano in her youth and writing her own music as a teenager.
A “Rebirth” and a Healthy Outlet
In a recent interview with Vogue magazine, she said: “I was in a couple bands during school, but whenever it came to the songs I’d written, I would lock myself in the bathroom and play them, because I just didn’t want anyone to listen. They were always for me.”
Delevingne has described her move into music as a “rebirth”, calling it a healthy outlet for her self-expression. She has been open about her struggles with mental health and addiction, stating she entered rehab in 2022 after taking a break from the limelight.
