Alexis Milford-White, then 32, boarded a Boeing 757 at Manchester Airport in June 2001, anticipating nothing more than a routine shift. Little did she know that this ordinary workday would alter the course of her life forever.
A Fateful Flight and an Ice-Breaking Moment
As Alexis carried out her duties on the aircraft, Stuart, a 24-year-old holidaymaker travelling with friends, quickly captured her attention. 'We got chatting throughout the flight,' Alexis recalled. 'At one point, he even helped me when I dropped the money from duty-free sales all over the cabin floor. It was one of those moments that just broke the ice.' This simple act of kindness paved the way for a connection that would deepen rapidly.
Upon landing in the Canary Islands, Stuart mustered the courage to ask Alexis for her contact details. Three days later, she received a text message from him, sparking a communication that would soon become intense. 'We stayed in touch throughout his holiday and would talk on the phone for hours, sometimes up to 12 hours at a time,' she gushed.
