Tommy DeCarlo, the lead singer of rock band Boston, has died at the age of 60 after a battle with brain cancer. His family announced his death on Monday, March 9, 2026, in a Facebook post.

DeCarlo was diagnosed with brain cancer in September 2025. In a statement, his wife Annie and their children Talia and Tommy Jr. said: 'After being diagnosed with brain cancer last September, he fought with incredible strength and courage right up until the very end.'

DeCarlo joined Boston in 2007 following the death of original frontman Brad Delp. He performed with the band for nearly two decades, singing hits such as 'More Than a Feeling' and 'Peace of Mind'.

In September, the family launched a GoFundMe campaign after DeCarlo suffered a brain bleed and underwent an emergency craniotomy. The fundraiser revealed that doctors found two melanoma masses on his brain and a spot on his lungs. As of his death, the campaign had raised over $56,000.

Boston's website was updated with a commemorative image of DeCarlo on stage, along with his birth and death dates. The band has not yet issued an official statement.
